2025 APPLICATION GUIDE FOR “CHINESE GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP –

‘THE SILK ROAD’ INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS YOUTH TALENT PROGRAM”

OF BEIJING LANGUAGE AND CULTURE UNIVERSITY

I.Application Eligibility

1.Applicants must be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, and be in good mental and physical health.

2.The requirements for applicants’ degree and age are that applicants must be a bachelor’s degree holder and no more than 35 years old when applying for the master’s programs.

3.Other kinds of Chinese Government Scholarships are not obtained at the same time.

4. Eligible Countries for Application: Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Mongolia, Georgia, Turkey, Italy, Indonesia, Thailand.

II.Scholarship Coverage

This program is open to applicants applying for master’s degree only. And the only applicable major is:

International Business (Taught in English; Length of Schooling: 2 years)

This program provides a full scholarship which covers tuition waiver, on-campus accommodation, comprehensive medical insurance and stipend (3,000 RMB/month for master’s degree).

III.Application Procedure

1.Log in “CGS Information Management System for International Students” (http://www.campuschina.org), and click “Scholarship Application for students” to enter the application system, then fill out the application information, submit online the completed Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship, and upload all the application documents. (Program category: B, Agency Number of Beijing Language and Culture University is 10032).

2.Log in the Online Application System for International Students of BLCU (https://apply.blcu.edu.cn), fill out the application information online, and then upload all the application documents and the completed electronic version of Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship.

3.All the application documents should be submitted online before10:00 June 6th, 2025, Beijing time. Applications will not be considered after the deadline.

4.After receiving all the application documents, BLCU will review each applicant’s documents in detail and organize a telephone or remote interview for those applicants who pass the verification of the first round. Please make sure that the phone number on the application form works and the email address is correct.

5.Applicants who pass the verification of the application for admission will be selected as candidates for the Chinese Government Scholarship – “The Silk Road” International Business Youth Talent Program and be nominated to China Scholarship Council for the final evaluation.

6.Please check the final evaluation results through personal account on the official website of China Scholarship Council. It will take a long time to review all the application documents. Please be patient.

7.Applicants who pass the verification of the application for admission of BLCU but are not qualified for the Chinese Government Scholarship – “The Silk Road” International Business Youth Talent Program can directly pursue self-financed study in BLCU or apply for the Beijing International Students scholarship.

IV.Application Documents

1.Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (in Chinese or English), please follow step 1 in Application Procedure to download the form and upload according to step 2 in Application Procedure;

2.Copy of Passport Home Page. If the validity of the applicant’s current passport does not meet the requirement (meaning the passport expires before March 2026), please apply for a new passport before submitting the application;

3.Notarized highest diploma (Bachelor or higher). Prospective diploma winners must submit official proof of student status by their current school. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations;

4.Academic transcripts (from the undergraduate program onwards). Copies of academic records from first to last semester during the undergraduate. They can be written in Chinese or English, but must be attached with notarized English translations if they are in foreign languages other than English;

5.English proficiency certificate: IELTS score of 6 (no less than 5.5 of each section)/TOEFL score of 90 or English native speaker;

6.A study plan proposal (written in English, no less than 1,000 words);

7.Recommendation letters. Two letters of recommendation from professors or associate professors shall be submitted. They can be written in Chinese or English, but must be attached with notarized English translations if they are in foreign languages other than English;

8.A photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed in English (the original copy shall be kept by the applicant). The form is designed by the Chinese quarantine authority and can be obtained from the dispatching authority. The physical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Please select the appropriate time to take a physical examination as the result is valid for only 6 months.

9.Non-criminal record report. The applicant shall submit a valid certificate of Non-Criminal Record issued by the local public security authority, usually issued within 6 months prior to the submission date of the application.

10.The registration fee is 800 RMB, which is non-refundable. Payment method:

Reminder:

1.Incomplete application documents will not be processed and BLCU has the right to require applicants to provide any other supplementary materials.

2.Uploaded supporting documents must be clear, authentic and valid. Applicants   are recommended to use a professional device to scan the relevant documents. Applicants shall bear the consequences caused by unclear or unidentifiable uploaded materials.

3.Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.

V.Tips

1.Scholarship holders must complete the registration according to the schedule specified by the school. Scholarship will not be retained for those who fail to register for no reason before the deadline and they will be disqualified for admission.

2.Scholarship holders must participate in the scholarship annual review according to the regulations. The scholarship will be suspended or canceled for those who fail to pass the review.

3.In principle, the scholarship holders shall not change the major and duration of study.

4.Scholarship holders at the same time shouldn’t receive other scholarships provided by Chinese governments at all levels or admitted institutions (one-time bounties are excluded), otherwise one’s Chinese Governments Scholarships will be canceled and one shall return the money received. If any concealment was found, one’s scholarship will be canceled and one won’t be allowed to apply for Chinese Government Scholarship for the next 3 years.

BEIJING INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS SCHOLARSHIP

Beijing International Students Scholarship is established by the university to encourage self-funded students to work hard on their study and research, so as to cultivate high-level talents with excellent conduct and academic performance.

Ⅰ. Eligibility

1.Be a non-Chinese citizen;

2.Be friendly to China, have no criminal record, abide by the laws and regulations of China and the rules and regulations of the Host Institution;

3. Be in good physical and mental health, be in good academic and behavioral standing;

4.In principle, the bachelor's degree should not exceed 30 years old, the master's degree should not exceed 35 years old, and the doctor's degree should not exceed 40 years old (as of September 1, 2025).

Ⅱ. Supporting Categories and Scholarship Coverage

• This scholarship is open to applicants of Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree and PhD programs.

• This scholarship only covers the first year tuition fee and excludes other fees.

Ⅲ. Application Process

1. An applicant shall download “Beijing International Students Scholarship Form (Only for Freshmen)” from the website of Beijing language and culture university.

2. An applicant shall fill in the application information online via BLCU Application System (https://apply.blcu.edu.cn) and upload relevant materials according to the course you are applying for and the scholarship form; or send the scholarship form to the following email address:

graduate@blcu.edu.cn (applicants for Master’s Degree and PhD programs)

3. Only after the approval of International Student Scholarship Committee, the successful candidates will be awarded the scholarship, and “Admission Notice for Beijing International Students Scholarship” will be issued. Otherwise, the applicants shall study on their own expenses.

4. If the applicant decides not to study at BLCU, the application materials will not be returned and application fee will not be refunded.

Ⅳ. Application Dates and Admission Results

• If enrolled in March 2025: Please submit your application before January 12, 2025, and the scholarship results will be announced in February 2025;

• If enrolled in September 2025: Please submit your application before June 15, 2025, and the scholarship results will be announced in August 2025.
